More Information Yacht Design

VENTURE 90 and 93 : 27  and 28metres may seem short for a three deck motor yacht but by careful design and their usual attention to space utilisation Dixon Yacht Design have produceda vessel which is both elegant and extremely roomy for her size.

The first of these, the 90 foot Venture Series 27 meter displacement motor yacht is cruising since launch date in 2004 with Owners interested in the new version Venture 28.

Considerable thought has been given to every aspect of this yacht to ensure she provides the greatest levels of both comfort and performance. The steelhull with its aluminium superstructure has been tested at the Wolfson Unit in

Southampton; specialists Van Cappellen have advised on an designed effective sound insulation and an efficient air conditioning and ventilation system for the vessel were designed by Heinen & Hopman.

Two 600hp Caterpillar diesels located near the centre of the yacht in a very well equipped and thought out engine room provide a maximum speed of 13 knots with a comfortable cruise of 12.5 knots. A fuel capacity of 34,000 litres ensures that this is a true ocean passage maker with a range at 11.5 knots of 3000 nautical miles.

Reading the standard specification their can be no doubt that Dixon Yacht Design and Dutch Yachts see her as a pocket megayacht with all the comfort benefits this can bring while ensuring minimal crew requirements, low maintenance costs and a sensible price to begin with. That standard

specification includes, two 55kw generators, a bow thruster, stabilisers, a sanitation treatment plant, a water maker producing 1200 US gallons a day, two radar sets, a CCTV security system and most cabins around the yacht fitted with iPads and Apple TV entertainment systems.

The top deck has a wheelhouse, behind which is a Skylounge with sliding doors leading out to an area ideal for alfresco dining. Above this deck, ‘on top of the world’, is a large and very comfortable sundeck.

A feature more and more demanded on motor yachts these days is a main deck master stateroom and DYD are very adept at designing these into yachts which are generally considered too small to have one. On the entire Venture series they have excelled themselves. A king-sized bed, his and her bathroom entrances with a tub/shower combination combine to make this a really luxurious area for the owners to relax in. The main deck also features a formal dining area for 8 people with a large lounge area beyond. Walk around side decks with a covered seating area aft add even more to the feeling of space this yacht projects.

The lower deck contains a VIP cabin complete with king size bed, two further twin guest cabins with berths which can be used as singles but easily convert into queen doubles, all with ensuite marble baths with showers.

The crew quarters can be entered from either an aft-port main deck door, or from the swim platform. Crew facilities include a full galley, captain’s double, twin crew cabin, head and washer/dryer.

The engine room is entered through the crew quarters. Very extensive thought and planning has gone into the exterior lighting treatments for maximum beauty while at anchor or underway. The tender and water toys are stored on the bridge deck along with safety equipment.
